safe travels little sister
my little baby sister - who is actually 23 - is about to embark on the trip of a life time. over 3 months backpacking through europe and the usa.
she'll start in rome and travel all over europe and the usa with different groups of equally fun loving friends.
i'm so envious of her. although my trip to bali was really hard i do have some fond memories and the fondest of all is the freedom. the freedom of sitting and writing without thinking that i should really be doing some house work, or the freedom of going for a short walk to the rice fields only to keep walking and walking because i had no where i had be, the freedom of sitting on the back of a motor bike trying to take in everything my eyes had never seen before.
but more than envious, i'm excited for her. i'm excited that she has this chance to explore the world and try new things, immerse herself in new cultures and build friendships all over the world. i can't imagine the things she will see; big ben, the eiffel tower, october fest, the northern lights the list goes on, it really is the trip of a lifetime.
i'm going to miss her so much. it didn't hit me until the other day when i realised that when we see her through the big silver doors of customs (or limbo as we call it!) i wont be seeing her for nearly three whole months. but mazz and i will meet bec in la in november and fly together to new york for a week. i presume that that flight from melbourne to la will be the longest of my life and that the flight from la to ny the shortest. there's going to be a lot of catching up to do!
safe travels buzzy, i love you and will wiss you like crazy, make the most of every single second.
