i'm playing along with sometimes sweet.
loving; spring! melbourne came to the party for the first weekend of spring, after weeks of rain the sun came out. the cats are all sun baking, koa and i spent the morning at the farmers market and princey is loving having the front door open. spring brings ideas of change and growth and i feel like i'm in a good place for both.
reading; nothing but english lessons; past tense, present tense, present simple, continuous... it's starting to do my head in learning it all, now i have to teach it...
watching; friends reruns. i've been going through the box set for probably two years now. big brother.don't judge. puberty blues. i looooved the book growing up (hiding it under my bed so mum wouldn't see!) and the show is surprisingly just as good. and i've been watching the second season of go back to where you came from on sbs. it deserves a post all on it's own and i highly recommend that you check it out if you haven't already.
this is from the go back to where you came from site;
Six prominent faces from Australian politics, television and radio, some with outspoken views on refugees and asylum seekers and others with a connection to the debate, are set to get the nation talking when they feature in the second instalment of Go Back to Where You Came From.
Over three episodes, the six Australians will face mortal danger on the streets of the world’s deadliest cities - from the sweltering, war torn capital of Somalia, Mogadishu, to the riotous streets of Kabul, freezing amidst the mountains of Afghanistan. They will travel directly into the eye of a storm - inside the walls of Christmas Island Detention Centre. It’s intense, shocking, and one of the most challenging experiences of their lives.
it is nothing short of eye opening.
thinking about; i'm pretty sure that i've found my way to the light at the end of the tunnel, that i'm on the other side, found the cloud with the silver lining, found the sunshine, dug my way out of the black hole and whatever other cliche you can think of. i think there will be a post on that coming.
surprised; pleasantly, by all the new people telling me they pop by here. hello angela, shona, niki, jim, peter and everyone else.
making me sad; nothing really, which is awesome. i'm a little disappointed that winter is over, i love the rain and storms, the coats and scarves and gloves and i love hibernating. but i also love that i live in melbourne and you never really know what you'll get.
making me happy; simple things like fresh daffodils and tulips, having the windows open, shoes without socks, spending the days outside in the sunshine, spinach and quiche, drawing and writing, learning, spending time with tookta, avocado on toast, floral, chatting with bec on the other side of the world, friends that tell me they are proud of me and my lazy cats, happy koa and chatty princess.
